Childcare Worker at the Sámi School Board

The Sámi School Board is a government authority with its office located in Jåhkåmåhkke, including a school principal, controllers, HR, and administrators.

The Sámi school is an educational form equivalent to primary school, providing instruction from preschool to grade 6. The teaching is based on Sámi culture and the Sámi language according to the curriculum for Sámi schools. The Sámi School Board also operates preschools in agreement with the respective municipalities. The Sámi School Board has activities in Giron, Gárasavvon, Váhtjer, Jåhkåmåhkke, and Dearna.

The Sámi School Board organizes distance education in the Sámi languages and supports the development and production of teaching materials for Sámi education.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a childcare worker, you will actively and responsibly participate in planning, implementation, and reflection in collaboration with the team as well as individually. Documentation and evaluation are part of the role in accordance with the preschool's governing documents and from a Sámi perspective, both individually and in teams. You will actively contribute to developing successful learning environments together with others at the preschool, and participate in other tasks at the preschool and in the children's group.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is a trained childcare worker. You must be proficient in the Sámi language both orally and in writing and have knowledge of Sámi culture. Applicants must provide a criminal record extract from the police before employment.
